Ethereum to Tron

Most people asking for this route call it "converting ERC-20 to TRC-20". It is not a conversion — it is a transfer between two separate blockchains, and the table above shows what each provider charges to make it.

Fee is everything lost between what you send and what you receive. Where the transfer goes through us — the widget on this page — our integrator fee is already inside that number; the other providers are quoted at their own price. Gas on the source network is listed separately. Quotes refresh every 60 seconds while this page is open.

Via an exchange

Two standards, two separate balances

TRC-20 is TRON’s token standard, built to behave the way ERC-20 does on Ethereum — alike in how the contract works, unconnected in where the balance lives. The token you hold on Ethereum stays on Ethereum. What the quotes above buy is delivery of an equivalent balance on TRON.

The address tells you the network here

Unlike EVM networks, which share one address format and let the same string exist on all of them, TRON uses Base58 addresses beginning with T, and a new account has to be activated before it can hold anything (TRON Protocol documentation). A transfer sent to the wrong format simply cannot be constructed, which makes this one of the few routes where the address itself protects you.

Fees on TRON work differently

Transactions consume bandwidth and energy rather than a straightforward gas balance. Each account gets some bandwidth for free daily, energy comes from staking TRX, and where neither is available TRX is burned instead (TRON Protocol documentation). That is why the cost of using funds on TRON does not look like gas on an EVM network — and why the gas column here refers only to the Ethereum transaction you are sending from.

Or use an exchange

TRON is one of the networks exchanges most consistently support for stablecoin withdrawals. Where we have a checked fee, that row is shown beside the bridges, including when it is the lower number.

Questions

How do I convert ERC-20 to TRC-20?

You move the token rather than convert it: ERC-20 USDT is an Ethereum balance, TRC-20 USDT a TRON one. A bridge or an exchange withdrawal does it, and both are priced above.

Can I send to my Ethereum address on TRON?

No. TRON addresses are Base58 strings beginning with T, not hex addresses — the formats are unrelated. Use the TRON address from a wallet that supports the network.

What do I need on the TRON side?

An activated account. A TRON address that has never received anything has to be activated before it can hold assets, and transactions there consume bandwidth and energy rather than a simple gas balance.

Why is this route cheaper through some providers than others?

Support for TRON is uneven, and a provider that holds little liquidity there quotes accordingly. The Quote sources column shows how many answered for your token.
