Questions
Who is behind RouteCompare?
An independent project, not owned by or affiliated with any bridge, aggregator or exchange listed on the site. Nobody pays to appear in the comparison or to be placed higher in it. What can be checked is the work rather than a biography: where each number comes from is set out on the methodology page.
How do you make money?
Two ways, both described in the disclaimer: an integrator fee on transfers made through the widget on this site, and referral links to some exchanges. Neither affects the order of the table, and quotes that contain our fee are labelled.
What does this do that a bridge's own site does not?
It asks several providers at once instead of one, it puts an exchange withdrawal in the same table even when that turns out to be cheaper, and it keeps the quotes it collects, so a route can be compared over time rather than only at this moment.
Do you hold my funds at any point?
No. A transfer through the widget is executed by the provider and the bridges it routes through; an exchange withdrawal happens entirely on the exchange. We never take custody and never ask for keys.
Why should I trust the numbers?
Because you can check them. Every quote carries the time it was taken, every exchange fee carries the date we last verified it against the exchange's own page, and a value we do not have is written as "no data" rather than filled in.
Is any of this financial advice?
No. This is an information tool. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or move any asset, and cross-chain transfers carry real risk of losing funds — the disclaimer covers that in full.
